Anna Burel

Shortlisted for the V&A Illustration Award 2026

Anna is a London-based illustrator currently on the Helen Biles Mentorship Programme, developing her portfolio for commercial editorial work. Her illustrations for Conceiving Histories: Trying for Pregnancy, Past and Present were shortlisted for the V&A Illustration Award 2026, with 108 full-colour images bringing Isabel Davis’s exploration of conception to life.

 

Working across collage and mixed media, Anna’s practice focuses on the female body and reproductive health, with exhibitions at the Barbican Art Centre, The Bomb Factory Art Foundation, and Birkbeck, and features in publications including Stylist and the London Review of Books.
